Description

Globe valves from Fluent Valves are specially engineered for fine flow regulation and throttling applications. Unlike gate valves, globe valves allow partial opening and precise modulation of fluid flow, making them suitable for scenarios where flow control, not just isolation, is essential.

Our design uses an outside-screw & yoke (OS&Y) rising spindle with a backseat arrangement, allowing safe maintenance and sealing at the bonnet when the valve is open. The working parts are renewable and made from SS 410 (13% Cr) by default, with options for more corrosion-resistant alloys for harsh service.

Variants include straight-through and angle-type bodies. In angle-type, the fluid path changes direction within the body, which can reduce piping and improve layout flexibility. ND-40 variants allow special mid-range face-to-face dimensions for certain applications.

Globe valves can be actuated manually (handwheel), by gear mechanism (for higher torque), electric actuation, or pneumatic actuation. For applications where torque 350 N·m, gear operation is recommended. Additional accessories include limit switches, position indicators, locking arrangements, and stellited surfaces for enhanced wear resistance.

Our globe valves are suitable for a wide variety of media-liquids, gases, steam, slurries-and are built to handle severe services including high temperature, corrosive environments, and frequent throttling cycles.

Features

  • Precise Throttling / Regulation - designed for accurate partial flow control.
  • Reliable Sealing - tight shut-off when fully closed, minimal leakage.
  • Robust Construction - supports high pressure & temperature applications.
  • Multiple Body Styles - in-line and angle designs for application flexibility.
  • Modular & Service-Friendly - renewable internals, backseat for safe bonnet service.
  • Versatile Actuation Options - manual, gear, electric, pneumatic.

Applications

Fluent Valves’ globe valves are ideal in:

  • Chemical & Petrochemical plants (regulating flow of reactive or corrosive fluids)
  • Oil & Gas (process control, pressure regulation)
  • Power Plants (steam, feedwater flow control)
  • HVAC / Building Services (regulating water, steam)
  • Water Treatment & Distribution Systems
  • Cryogenic & Gas Processing
  • High-precision flow control in industrial systems

Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some common questions about our globe valves:

Ball Valve

Globe valves are designed for flow regulation and throttling; gate valves are optimized for isolation (on/off). Globe valves provide better control but usually incur higher pressure drop.

Yes - by selecting appropriate materials (stainless, alloy, duplex) and protective coatings, they can be used in severe, high-temperature, or corrosive environments.

Manual (handwheel), gear-operated (for high torque), electric actuator, pneumatic actuator. Accessories like limit switches, position indicators, and locking arrangements are available.

In-line (straight-through), angle-type (body shape changes direction), ND-40 variants with special dimensions. Each has advantages in specific piping layouts.

Classes #150, #300, #600, #900, #1500, #2500. Sizes typically from ½″ to 48″ or more, depending on configuration and material.

Designs adhere to BS 1873 / 5352, dimensions per ANSI B16.10 / DIN ND, end connections per ANSI and DIN norms, and tested per API 598. Optional compliance with IBR and NACE MR0175.
